New home New Yoga
Dear Yogi friends,
I'm writing you from my new home in my new hometown of Laren. Again I find myself on new grounds after having spend two brief years in Amsterdam, surrounded by everything I know and grew up with. Even though Laren is only a 20 minute drive from the city, it is a completely different world. Buildings have become trees and people have been replaced with sheep and horses. After spending most of my life in big cities like New York, London and Amsterdam this is definitely a change of scenery, to say the least! Every new path we take shines a light on what has been kept in the dark. All of a sudden you cannot rest in your comfort zone anymore, everything you thought you knew becomes a question again. What is it that I want to do? Am I happy? What is really important to me? A new path, a chance to re-invent, to let go of anything that doesn't serve you anymore and to see even clearer what undoubtedly remains rock solid. It can be frightening to question the things that you once believed to be the truth (about yourself or anything really). But if you dare to look beyond fear you might find a sense of freedom that you may not have experienced in a long time.
One of the things that has remained undoubtedly rock solid for me is my love for teaching Yoga. Even when I've been so tired because of the move, working in our new home and having a little baby, teaching has been my anchor. I've always loved my students, but the past few months I've become even more grateful of every single person who comes to class with such open hearts and minds.
New paths, new dreams to follow. Dreaming of teaching here in this beautiful town, where the sound of emptiness fills my heart with love. One day I dream of bringing people from the city, to retreat here, to listen to the sound of the wind whispering to the trees, to become still enough to hear one's own heart whisper. But right now my dream is to teach here in my own studio in this beautiful house that I can call home.
A Yoga Space for private or small group practice. Ensuring loads of personal attention and adjustments. From September onwards I hope to open the doors to anyone who wishes to start practicing or to deepen their practice. I am here for you.
